Village-level soil testing lab to be set up in each of the 470 blocks of Bihar

Patna, June 13 (UNI)Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha today said that under the Soil Health and Fertility Scheme, one village-level soil testing laboratory will be established in each of the 470 blocks of the state in this financial year.
Sinha said here on Friday that through these laboratories, local farmers will have access to timely soil testing of their fields, which will enable them to get scientific advice regarding crop rotation, fertiliser use, and land improvement. He said that it will increase the production and productivity of crops and reduce the cost of farming, which will increase the income of the farmers.
Sinha said that in addition to taking the agricultural technologies to the villages, these laboratories will open employment opportunities for the educated youth.
