Vijayendra slams Cong Govt. over municipal strike

Bengaluru, July 12 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa today criticised the Congress-led state government for its inaction amid the ongoing indefinite strike by over 30,000 municipal employees, warning that civic life in major cities is heading toward total disruption.
In a scathing statement, Vijayendra accused the government of remaining “deaf, blind, and irresponsible” even as ten major municipal corporations in the state witness mounting chaos and stagnation of services. “The government has shut its eyes and ears, displaying shocking apathy and dereliction of duty,” he said.
He blamed the ongoing crisis on what he termed the government's “discriminatory policy” toward different categories of government employees. “The situation where municipal workers are forced to take to the streets with legitimate demands has arisen solely due to the state’s biased and unequal treatment,” Vijayendra stated.
