Vijayendra questions Siddaramaiah's SIT order, seeks truth on Dharmasthala campaign

Bengaluru, Jun 12 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Friday questioned former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's decision to order a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Dharmasthala issue and demanded that the truth be brought out on who allegedly orchestrated and financed what he described as a "massive campaign" against the famous temple town.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters Jagannath Bhavan here, Vijayendra alleged that serious questions remained unanswered over the circumstances leading to the SIT probe and claimed that a larger conspiracy had been hatched to tarnish the image of the revered Dharmasthala Sri Manjunatheshwara temple and hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
"People want to know who orchestrated this campaign, who financed it and who stood to benefit from it. Why was the SIT probe ordered in such haste? All these questions must be answered," he said.
