Vijayendra blames Congress infighting for farmer distress

Belagavi, Dec 9 (UNI) Karnataka BJP chief Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Congress government, alleging that its “internal political tussles” and “absence of administrative focus” have pushed the state’s farmers into deep distress.
He said the BJP Kisan Morcha has called for a protest involving more than 20,000 farmers.
Addressing media here, Vijayendra said the government failed to open procurement centres on time, resulting in severe losses for maize growers. He alleged that senior leaders in the administration were preoccupied with political activities outside the state.
