Vijay Diwas observed in Aizawl; MNF marks December 16 as Exodus Day

Aizawl, Dec 16 (UNI) Vijay Diwas was observed in Mizoram on Tuesday with a solemn ceremony at the War Memorial, Treasury Square, Aizawl, under the leadership of Chief Minister Lalduhoma, commemorating India’s victory in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.
The Chief Minister led the observance by laying a wreath at the memorial in honour of soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation.
Wreaths were also laid by Home Minister K. Sapdanga; Lt Col Clement Lalhmingthanga (Retd.), MLA and president of the Mizoram Ex-Servicemen League; Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena; Director General of Police Sharad Agarwal; Home Secretary Vanlalmawia; Padma Shri awardee Hav Lalbiakthanga, president of the World War II Veterans Association; and other senior officials and dignitaries.

Rohini decries injustice to NEET rape-murder victim, questions safety of girls in Bihar

Patna, Jan 20 (UNI) Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, today raised the question of safety of girls in Bihar, saying a NEET student who was raped and murdered in a Patna-based hostel a few days back had slim chance of getting justice due to the "indifferent attitude" of the Nitish Kumar government and the "suppressive nature of investigation" of the case by police.
