Veteran long distance runners to be hounored by VDHM

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) As the 20th edition of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon (VDHM), is round the corner, and its organisers Procam International have announced the launch of the exclusive 'VDHM Starts Club'. This special initiative honours 38 remarkable runners who have completed the event’s challenging 21.097 km distance at least fifteen times.
The VDHM Starts Club celebrates their unwavering commitment and the inspiring journeys these athletes have undertaken since the inaugural edition in 2005, marking them as enduring symbols of passion, perseverance, and the spirit of running.
The introduction of the VDHM Stars Club not only celebrates the extraordinary personal achievements of its members but also marks a milestone in the half-marathon community.

No Khelo Ratna for 2025; Priyanka, Tejaswin, Divya among 17 Arjuna awardees

New Delhi, Aug18 (UNI) The Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna will have no recipient this year, with the Sports Ministry choosing not to confer India’s highest sporting honour for 2025. The decision, the first of its kind since 2014, came alongside the selection of 17 athletes for the Arjuna Award, including two-time Olympian race-walker Priyanka Goswami, Commonwealth Games medallist Tejaswin Shankar, women’s badminton duo Treesa Jolly and Pullela Gayatri Gopichand, and World Cup-winning chess player Divya Deshmukh.
