Vehicular traffic to be diverted in Shimla from May 22-June 8 for underground utility work

Shimla, May 20 (UNI) In view of construction work for laying an underground utility duct, vehicular traffic on the road from Chhota Shimla to Oak Over will remain suspended from May 22 to June 8, 2025.
The decision follows a request from the Executive Engineer, HPPWD, and recommendations from the Senior Superintendent of Police, Shimla.
District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap issued the order under sections 115 and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, restricting all types of vehicles, except emergency services, on the said stretch. The closure is essential to facilitate the safe execution of the underground duct laying between Chhota Shimla and Oak Over.
