Vaave Rebrands as Hoopstr, Eyes Expansion of Alumni Learning Ecosystem

Hyderabad, Mar 13 (UNI) Hyderabad-based alumni engagement platform Vaave on Friday announced its rebranding as Hoopstr, marking its transition from an alumni management platform to a broader ecosystem aimed at supporting lifelong learning and career development through active alumni networks.
Founded in 2011, the platform currently works with over 1,200 institutions worldwide and connects around 4.9 million alumni across 28 countries, enabling mentorship, networking and collaborative learning opportunities for students and graduates.
The company has also raised its first external funding of ₹6.6 crore from Aditya Vuchi, VCMint, and Raj Narayanam, Founder and Executive Chairman of Zaggle, through RAN Ventures.
In a release, the company said it plans to raise a Pre-Series A round in the future to expand its ecosystem offerings.
With a team of around 80 employees, Hoopstr aims to onboard 2,500 top institutions in India within the next 18 months, up from the current 1,200 institutions, while targeting 80–100 per cent year-on-year growth.
The company said it plans to activate alumni networks to generate 10,000 internships and facilitate ₹100 crore worth of scholarships for students over the next three years in collaboration with around 30 select institutions.
Commenting on the development, Paresh Masade, Founder and CEO of Vaave, said the rebrand reflects the company’s vision to transform alumni communities into active contributors to learning and career development.
Hoopstr said its platform enables institutions to turn alumni networks into active ecosystems for mentorship, career opportunities, industry insights and knowledge exchange, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience.
