Vaani Kapoor steps into OTT with 'Mandala Murders'

Mumbai, July 8 (UNI) Actress Vaani Kapoor, known for her elegant screen presence and versatile roles, is set to make her digital debut with the forthcoming thriller 'Mandala Murders'.

The series, produced by YRF Entertainment in collaboration with Netflix is slated to premiere on July 25 and is expected to offer a unique blend of mythology, psychological intrigue and crime.

Speaking about her decision to venture into the streaming space, Vaani said, “I was looking for something incredibly special and challenging to mark my debut on Netflix streaming, and I’m glad I found 'Mandala Murders', where I’m venturing into bolder territory and taking centrestage in a thriller that pushes me both physically and psychologically. It is a genre I’ve never explored before. Taking this fearless leap has challenged me to discover new layers of intensity, grit, and vulnerability, which I believe are essential for truly compelling storytelling.”

The actress emphasised that streaming platforms provide better opportunities for women and appreciated the OTT platforms as an actresses gets more meatier projects and roles to show their craft, which are often not found in theatrical films, as they mostly revolve around male actors.

Directed by Gopi Puthran and co-directed by Manan Rawat, the series is described as a mythological-crime drama, one that's heavy on suspense, layered characters and cinematic visuals.
