Uttarakhand: Efforts underway to channelise excess water from disaster-born reservoir

Dehradun, Aug 6 (UNI) Massive muck and debris brought by Khirgad water stream, which caused havoc at Dharali market, has led to a lake like formation in Ganga riverbed near the Harsil village, putting local lives at significant risk.
Efforts are underway to channelise and discharge water from the lake. Meanwhile, the administration has shifted villagers to safer locations on higher sides.
