US VP JD Vance blames Israeli military operations in Lebanon for threatening to derail Iran agreement, angering Trump

Washington, Jun 18 (UNI) US Vice President JD Vance today noted Israeli military operations in Lebanon have at times complicated efforts to secure a diplomatic breakthrough with Iran, saying that this has increasingly frustrated President Donald Trump.
Speaking at a White House briefing, he said progress in negotiations had occasionally been disrupted by developments in Lebanon, reports CNN.
"Sometimes we are on the verge of a major breakthrough and then there is a major explosion in a civilian area in Beirut, where many people who have nothing to do with Hezbollah lose their lives," Vance said. "That is not acceptable, and we have asked for closer coordination to ensure it does not happen."
