US teens choose work over college, India must pay attention, says Zoho founder Vembu

Bengaluru, Dec 4 (UNI) Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu, in a reflective post on Thursday, said a profound cultural shift is unfolding in the United States as increasing numbers of smart young students choose to skip college altogether — a trend he believes India must watch closely.
Vembu noted that many forward-looking American employers are actively enabling this movement by removing degree requirements, giving high-school graduates a direct path into meaningful work.
According to him, this marks a powerful rise of "youth power", allowing youngsters to stand on their own feet early, avoid heavy education loans, and chart their own economic path.
