US envoy to US defends Trump threat to target Iranian civilian infrastructure; calls it 'perfectly acceptable'

New York, Apr 20 (UNI) The US' envoy to the UN, Mike Waltz, has called President Donald Trump's threat to strike Iranian infrastructure, "perfectly acceptable", dismissing all claims which categorise such an action as tantamount to a war crime.
Speaking on Sunday, Waltz said "all options are on the table" amid Washington's rising tensions with Tehran, arguing that the US military could dismantle key civilian infrastructure, like power plants and bridges, "relatively easily," claiming that the Islamic Republic Iran's air defence systems had been "absolutely decimated."
Pressed on whether such strikes would breach international law, Waltz admitted that while it would be indeed be "an escalatory ladder," he outright dismissed all statements which claimed that such an action would constitute war crimes, as "ridiculous arguments", calling such criticisms "irresponsible," and drew parallels with WWII.
