UPA compromised India's sovereignty under US pressure: Vijayendra

Bengaluru, Mar 9 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa has taken a sharp dig at the Congress-led UPA government, alleging it repeatedly compromised India's sovereign interests under pressure from foreign powers, particularly the United States.
In a social media post addressed to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Vijayendra recalled incidents from the UPA era, citing former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's public confirmation that India had reduced oil imports from Iran under American pressure.
He described the episode as one of the most humiliating moments in India's diplomatic history, noting it occurred in the presence of the UPA government's own External Affairs Minister.
