UP: Youth arrested for killing peacock in Firozabad

Firozabad (UP), May 23 (UNI) A youth was arrested after a peacock was killed by some persons with a slingshot in Narkhi area of Firozabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police sources said here.
The sources said some people were seen attacking the national bird in Nagla Radhe village, due to which it fell down. "Seeing the peacock falling down, the villagers reached the spot where they caught a youth and the police were informed about the incident," they said.
The police called the forest department team to the spot, but by then the injured peacock had died. "Police arrested the accused Virendra Singh Gihar, a resident of Shikohabad. Legal action is being taken against him," they said.
