UP: Two killed, 23 injured as bus collides with truck

Etawah (UP), Feb 10 (UNI) Two persons were killed and 23 others were injured when a bus full of devotees collided with a truck in the Friends Colony area of Etawah district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, a senior police officer said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar said that a bus full of devotees returning to Noida after bathing at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh collided with a truck on the Kanpur-Agra Highway near the Bharthana intersection this morning.
"Two devotees died in the incident, and 23 others were seriously injured. It is believed that this accident happened due to the bus driver dozing off," he said.
He said that all the injured have been admitted to Doctor Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Joint Hospital, out of which two have been sent to Saifai Medical University in a serious condition.
The SSP said that the deceased have been identified as Meera and Neelu, while the injured include Saurabh Verma, Pawan, Sanju, Shiv Devi, Munni, Kusum, Parvat, Radha, Chain Pal, Kunti, Rinku, Ravindra, Sarita, Archana, Seema, Anand Singh, Hemlata, Swati, Nagendra Sharma, Devi and Sharman. Most of the injured are residents of Noida.
