UP to get new BJP president soon, Piyush Goyal to reach Lucknow today

Lucknow, Dec 11 (UNI) The BJP in Uttar Pradesh is set to get its new state president soon with the commencement of the democratic process on Thursday.
According to party sources here, union Minister and Uttar Pradesh election in-charge Piyush Goyal is expected to reach Lucknow by Thursday evening.
Party sources have indicated that this time the party can rely on the leader of the OBC community as the state president. This is being seen as a strategy to strengthen the social equation ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. According to reports, the name of the new state president is expected to be announced soon, following the election process.

Power curtailment imposed in parts of Kangra due to transformer overloading
