UP: Three arrested after boy was thrashed on suspicion of theft

Firozabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Three persons were arrested by the police on Monday after a 10-year-old boy was tied to a pole and thrashed on suspicion of theft in Ramgarh area of Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh, a top police officer said.
Superintendent of Police (City) Sravesh Kumar Mishra said here that a video of the boy tied to a pole and thrashed after being stripped went viral on social media. "Taking cognizance of the viral video the police arrested three persons," he said.
He said that the arrested accused have been identified as Shamsuddin, Haseen and Arif. "The accused have been sent to jail after legal action. The boy was produced before the Child Welfare Committee," he said.
