UP: Septuagenarian strangled to death by son in Mahoba

Mahoba (UP), Apr 25 (UNI) A septuagenarian was strangled to death by her drunkard son allegedly over petty dispute in Kabrai area of Mahoba district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer said here.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vandana Singh said that 70-year-old Rukmini lived with her son Hiralal and widowed daughter-in-law Vimlesh in Vishal Nagar locality. "It is alleged that Hiralal reached home in an inebriated state and started having an altercation with his mother," she said.
She said that during the argument, the matter escalated so much that Hiralal, in a fit of rage, strangled his mother Rukmini, killing her on the spot. "When Vimlesh attempted to intervene, the accused also beat her," she said.
