UP DGP orders strengthening of anti-human trafficking units, fast action on missing children

Lucknow, Oct 8 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Krishna today issued strict directives to all senior police officers to strengthen the state’s Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) and ensure swift and effective investigation in cases related to missing children.
According to an official statement, the DGP has instructed all Additional Director Generals (ADGs) of Zones, Police Commissioners, Inspectors General (IGs), Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to ensure that AHT police stations function exclusively for their designated purpose and are equipped with necessary facilities.
Calling human trafficking a “global organized crime,” DGP Krishna emphasized that trafficking for purposes such as sexual exploitation, forced labor, illegal adoption, begging, organ trade, or drug trafficking is a grave violation of the fundamental human rights of women and children.
