UoH launches online inter-disciplinary prog OE102 to teach Sanskrit with computer tools

Hyderabad, Oct 22 (UNI) University of Hyderabad (UoH), under its prestigious status as an institute of eminence, launched yet another innovative, online interdisciplinary programme OE102: Samsaadhanii Praveshika which aims at teaching Sanskrit with the help of computer tools.
The goal of this course is to develop a confidence in the minds of the student that with the help of these computational tools they can understand any Sanskrit text with some effort, the University said in a release here on Friday.
Prof Amba Kulkarni, the coordinator of the course, said “On the one hand we are looking at how to leverage computer technology to overcome the language barrier, how to reduce the time to learn a new language, and on the other hand we are also exploring the IGT for building these computational tools”.

Bengaluru, July 11 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said that the one-man commission headed by retired High Court judge Justice Michael D'Cunha has submitted its detailed report on last month's tragic stampede incident during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL victory celebration outside the Chinnaswamy stadium, in which 11 people were killed.
