Unity in Diversity is India’s Pride: Deputy Mayor Parshuram Wadekar

Pune, Mar 9 (UNI) India is a country enriched with diversity, and unity in diversity is its greatest strength and pride, said Deputy Mayor Parshuram Wadekar speaking at an Iftar party marking the end of the day-long fasting during the ongoing Ramadan month.
He appealed to people from all sections of society to live together harmoniously by sharing in each other’s joys and sorrows and participating in festivals and social occasions. The Iftar was organized by the Vishwabhushan Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Cultural Festival Committee.
Wadekar said that people belonging to different religions and communities such as Hindus, Muslims, backward classes, and Adivasis live together happily in India. The Indian Constitution has granted equal status to everyone. Indian society believes in humanity and values peace, and therefore it is expected that everyone should live together with harmony and mutual understanding.
