Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar tries his hand at jaggery making

Chandigarh, Feb 7 (UNI) union Minister and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made a surprise stop at a sugarcane crusher in Yamunanagar on Saturday, where he engaged in the traditional process of jaggery (gur) making.
Accompanied by former state cabinet minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar, the union Minister spent time observing the local production methods and interacting with the workers on-site.
During the visit, Khattar showed keen interest in the step-by-step manufacturing of both jaggery and shakkar (powdered jaggery). After witnessing the boiling and cooling process firsthand, he tasted the fresh, warm jaggery and advocated for the consumption of such indigenous, traditionally made products.
