Union Minister Kishan Reddy urges Telangana Govt to resolve cotton procurement issues

New Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 17 (UNI) union Minister G Kishan Reddy expressed concern over the confusion surrounding cotton procurement in Telangana, which he said had created unnecessary hardship for farmers and led to a strike by ginning mills.
Speaking at a media conference at his official residence in Delhi on Monday evening, he said he had held detailed discussions with senior officials of the Textile Ministry, the Telangana Agriculture Department and representatives of the Ginning Millers Association to address the issue.
The Minister noted that more than 200 procurement centres were currently functional and assured farmers that the Centre would continue purchasing cotton until March next year.
