UNICEF office ceases operations in Azerbaijan - Chief of Communication

Baku, May 13 (UNI) The office of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Azerbaijan will cease operations, UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Regional Chief of Communication Iryna Mazur said on Tuesday.
"The office of the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Azerbaijan will cease its activities. The process will be carried out in stages over the coming months. UNICEF will continue to cooperate with partners in Azerbaijan through its regional office and headquarters," Mazur said.
UNICEF has cooperated with the Azerbaijani government since 1993.
