New Delhi Nov 13, (UNI) When Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew to Thimpu earlier on Tuesday for talks with Bhutan's monarch King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the agenda went far beyond bilateral friendship.
India's proposal to link the Himalayan kingdom to its rail network through routes in West Bengal and Assam may appear as an infrastructure project, but its strategic implications reach deep into the heart of the eastern Himalayas, where India, Bhutan, and China intersect in a complex and fragile triangle.
