Unfreezing of Russian assets to be linked to Ukraine peace process - Italy's Meloni

Moscow, June 15 (UNI) The unfreezing of Russian assets blocked in Western jurisdictions will be linked to the start of a peace process on Ukraine, but future negotiations will also concern payments for Ukraine's reconstruction, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Saturday.
"It is clear that since the assets were frozen due to sanctions and since the sanctions are actually related to aggression against Ukraine, the possibility of unfreezing will only be possible in the event of a peace process. But I assume that this peace process will also discuss the issue of who should pay for Ukraine's reconstruction," Meloni told a press conference following a G7 summit in Italy.
