UK Foreign office urges citizens to leave Lebanon immediately

Beirut, Aug 5 (UNI) The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office called on the country's citizens to leave Lebanon immediately while commercial flights are still available, and announced the recall of family members of embassy staff in Beirut from the region.
"If you are currently in Lebanon, we encourage you to leave, while commercial options remain available," the office said in a statement.
The department noted that the families of officials working at the British Embassy in Beirut had been temporarily recalled from the region, but the embassy would continue to carry out its essential duties.
