Hyderabad, Mar 22 (UNI) Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Day, was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety all over Telangana on Wednesday.
People thronged temples to offer special prayers on the Ugadi day. While several temples organised recitation of "panchangam" (almanac) to mark the festival.
Tasteful decoration of Hindu households with flowers, mango and neem leaves besides preparation of special Ugadi delicacies including the sweet-bitter Ugadi Pachadi which signifies the happy-sad phases of life was the highlight of the festival.
