Two youths killed in explosion during UDF victory procession in Kozhikode

Kozhikode, Dec 13 (UNI) Two workers of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) were killed in scooter explosions in separate incidents at Balussery in Kozhikode and Cherukavu in Malappuram district, during the victory procession related to the local body elections, on Saturday evening.
A Youth Congress worker was killed and another youth seriously injured, when a scooter exploded during the victory celebration of a Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) victory procession at Madathumpady near Balussery.
According to police, the deceased was identified as Sandeep (30). His relative suffered serious injuries in the explosion and has been admitted to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The incident took place around 1900 hrs, when a victory procession was carried out by UDF, following the win of Devanand from the second ward of Panaghad grama panchayat.
