Two Tripura men awarded life imprisonment for murder

Agartala, March 11 (UNI) After 15 years of legal journey Additional District and Sessions Court of Khowai district in Tripura handed down life imprisonment sentences to two persons convicted of murdering a businessman in the Duski area of Teliamura in 2011.
According to reports, the court found Chiranjit Debbarma (42) and Shibaji Debbarma (33), both residents of the Para Kalak area in Biswachandra Para village under Teliamura police jurisdiction, guilty of the murder.
Besides the life sentences, the court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each convict. In case of default on payment, they are to serve an additional six months of simple imprisonment. They were convicted under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
