Two teachers die by suicide in 5 days amid rising TET exam pressure

Hamirpur/Mahoba, Sep 14 (UNI) Fear surrounding the mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is reportedly growing among government school teachers in Uttar Pradesh. In a tragic turn of events, two teachers have died by suicide within just five days, allegedly due to the pressure of the exam.
According to reports from Hamirpur district, 52-year-old Ganeshilal, a primary school teacher from Panwari village, was found hanging yesterday in his second residence, located approximately 1.5 kilometers from his main home. His son discovered him in the evening after the teacher failed to return home from school.
Ganeshilal is survived by his wife Usha Devi, two daughters, Swati and Anshika, and a son, Piyush. The family had just returned from Gaya a day earlier, where they had gone to perform ancestral rites. According to Piyush, his father left home yesterday morning, saying he was going to school. When he did not return home until evening and did not answer phone calls, the family became concerned.
