Two Agniveers killed as shell explodes in Maha, Court of inquiry ordered by Army

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Two Agniveers were killed when a shell exploded during a field firing practice at the Devlali Field Firing Range near Nashik in Maharashtra.
The Army has ordered a court of inquiry to find out the cause of the accident.
The accident occurred on Thursday afternoon when Agniveers were practicing at the Devlali Field Firing Range near Nashik in Maharashtra. Unfortunately, during the exercise, a shell accidentally exploded, seriously injuring the two soldiers.
Both of them were rushed to the hospital where they succumb to their injuries.
The Southern Command of the Army has confirmed the death of two Agniveers -- Gunners Gohil Vishvarajsinh and Saikat in the accident.
On its social media handle X, the Southern Command on Friday said, "Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, Army Commander, along with all ranks of Southern Command, express deep sorrow over the tragic loss of Agniveers, Gunner Gohil Vishvarajsinh and Gunner Saikat from the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, during a field firing exercise at the Devlali Field Firing Ranges.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to their grieving families in this moment of profound loss. A court of inquiry has been initiated to determine the cause of the accident during field firing".
