Twenty organisations decide to stage protest in New Delhi on Manipur issue

Imphal, Dec 5 (UNI) Expressing displeasure over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the Manipur crisis, as many as 20 organisations in Manipur have decided to organize a rally on the theme 'Peace and Mutual Coexistence' in Delhi on December 22.
A joint statement issued by the 20 bodies on Thursday said the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the ongoing crisis in Manipur since May three, 2023, has left the people of this war-torn state deeply anguished and disillusioned.
For over 18 months, Manipur has been engulfed in ethnic strife, leading to untold suffering, displacement and a breakdown of social harmony.

Labour rights’ outfits oppose proposed bill to repeal MGNREGA

Bhubaneswar, Dec 15 (UNI) A confederation labour rights’ bodies has opposed the proposed Viksit Bharat - Guarantee For Rozgar And Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 (VB-G RAM G) that seeks to repeal the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGA) saying that “it strikes at the core of social and economic justice by shifting power away from workers, Gram Sabhas, and States into the hands of the union Government”.

Weakening of Western Disturbance brings brief relief from cold in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Dec 15 (UNI) Residents of Jharkhand have experienced slight relief from the severe cold following the weakening of the western disturbance. In the state capital Ranchi, the minimum temperature, which had dipped below 6 degrees Celsius in recent days, has now risen above 10 degrees Celsius.
