Kendraj Joshi, General Manager – Sales (AP & Telangana) said the company has decided to pass the full benefit of GST rate reduction to its customers, following the recent reforms introduced by the GST Council. The 56th GST Council reduced the rate of Goods and Services Tax (GST) on ICE vehicles from 28 percent to 18 percent. "
"We are growing almost 3X of industry right now," he said in terms of category share- all India is about 33 percent on scooters and about 42 percent on motorcycles, so still motorcycles are more popular. North India is very heavy on economy segment bikes, which are 110, 120cc. So that is a big category there. So, at all-India level, still scooters are less than motorcycles," he said.
In South, AP, Telangana, Karnataka, the entire Kerala belt, the scooter category is far higher than north, he informed.
All markets like Tamil Nadu, the scooter is almost 65 percent while in Telugu states, the fleet would be about 44 percent scooters because of infrastructure and roads, especially rural roads.
About 85 main dealers in AP and Telangana put together besides about 220 touchpoints, he added.
