Turbulence in air, tension on tables at Ranchi

Ranchi, Dec 5 (UNI) As the table tennis fraternity converges in Jharkhand's capital of Ranchi for the season’s final National Ranking Championships, excitement and uncertainty arrive hand in hand.
The tournament boasts a hearty 12-section lineup and over 2,100 entries, yet the air is thick with apprehension. A string of last-minute flight cancellations and reschedules by a major airline has thrown travel plans into disarray—threatening a spate of walkovers that could alter the competition’s complexion.
Hosted by the Jharkhand Table Tennis Association (JKTTA) at the huge Harivansh Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, the event stands as the decisive battleground for ranking points.
