TTD Trust Board sanctions Rs 4 cr for making gold mangalsutras

Tirumala, Feb 27 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, the highest decision-making body of the world-famous Tirumala temple, in its meeting held here decided to sanction Rs 4 crore for the making of 4-gram, 5-gram, and 10-gram gold mangalsutras in various designs.
The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of B. Karunakar Reddy on Monday evening, resolved to grant permission to four leading jewelry companies to make seven designs.
Other decisions include the setting up of new gold-plated doors at the Jaya and Vijaya idol enclosures inside the temple at a cost of Rs 1.69 crore, the construction of a permanent yagashala at Saptha Gau Pradakshina mandir in Alipiri at a cost of Rs 4.12 crore, the construction of the Annamayya Kalamandir at Thallapaka, and the setting up of modern lights in Tiruchanoor Sri Padmavati Ammavari Temple at a cost of Rs 3.89 crore to enhance spirituality.
