Trump signals possible return of Russian oil sanctions as global energy routes reopen

Evian, Jun 16 (UNI) US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that Washington may soon reintroduce sanctions against Russian oil once the Strait of Hormuz is reopened to international vessels and the global energy flows smoothly.
Responding to questions from media about whether tougher measures against Moscow were being considered, Trump said, "Sanctions could be revived once oil markets stabilize. We’ll be able to do that because the oil is now flowing.”
“We took sanctions off because obviously we’re not looking to impede the oil flows, so we are in a position to do that soon," he added.
