Troops oganise sports event in Manipur

Imphal, March 14 (UNI) Assam Rifles and District Sports Association Chandel and Wisecabs conducted the 5th edition of the "Run Chandel Run" marathon today.
Senior officials, together with troops, joined around 1,500 participants in celebrating fitness, sportsmanship and community unity through this vibrant event.
Held under the theme "Run Strong, Run Proud, Run Chandel Run", the marathon brought together residents, students, athletes, security personnel and fitness enthusiasts from across the district. The races were organised across multiple categories to encourage wide participation: Below 16 Years (5 km), Open Category (5 km and 10 km), and Above 45 Years (5 km). The 10 km race began from Heibunglok Village, while the 5 km races commenced from Thoruwl Turf, with all events concluding at the District Sports Complex, Chandel Christian Village.

Drug seizure triggers chain of violence in Manipur's Bishnupur; 18 injured in firing, four arrested

Imphal/Bishnupur, Apr 14 (UNI) A major drug seizure at Tulihal Airport today set off a chain of events that culminated in fresh violence in Manipur’s Bishnupur district, where at least 18 people, including five women, were seriously injured in firing during clashes between security forces and a mob.
