Tripura seeks Centre’s approval for 15 Ekalavya Model Schools

Agartala, Jan 17 (UNI) The Tripura government has requested the Centre’s approval to set up 15 additional Ekalavya Model Residential Schools in the state’s tribal areas to strengthen educational opportunities for backward communities.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said the initiative will enhance educational infrastructure in regions predominantly inhabited by tribal populations and bring the state closer to the goal of having at least one Ekalavya school in every eligible Rural Development Block.
Tripura initially had only four Ekalavya Model Residential Schools. "However, after the BJP came to power in 2018, 21 more schools have been sanctioned, with 12 already becoming operational," he said.
