Tripura develops 25,000 hectares of organic land

Agartala, July 9 (UNI) The Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department of Tripura has developed more than 25,000 hectares of certified organic land and exported 1,332 MT of organic products—including scented rice, bird’s eye chilli, ginger, turmeric, and pineapple—to other states and foreign countries in the last three years.

Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said on Wednesday while addressing the first-ever Organic Buyer-Sellers meet that the world is not just demanding food; it is demanding safe, chemical-free, and traceable food.
