Treat all mothers with equal respect: Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Ram

Patna, Sep 12 (UNI) Amid the massive political controversy that has erupted over the release of an AI-generated video on social media from the official account of Bihar Congress depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajesh Ram today sought to strike a conciliatory note, saying that all Mothers should be treated with equal respect, regardless of relation.
While talking to media, Ram said “All mothers are alike and deserve respect. A mother is revered as a creator, and such matters should never be dragged into politics. One’s own mother and another’s mother should be treated with the same dignity.”
Reacting over the controversy, Bihar Water Resources Minister, Vijay Kumar Choudhary also denounced the opposition, remarking that “mockery and abusive language have become routine for them. This reflects the deep frustration and despair prevailing in opposition parties.”

Kolkata, Jul 15 (UNI) The West Bengal government is likely to table a Bill in the upcoming Assembly session starting from July 17 to strip elected gram panchayat pradhans of their financial powers and transfer those responsibilities to government officials through an amendment to the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973.
The proposed amendment is aimed at strengthening financial oversight, enhancing transparency and improving accountability in the implementation of rural development programmes across the state.

Ruling ally IPFT in Tripura seeks modification of SIR enumeration form

Agartala, July 15 (UNI) The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT), an ally of the BJP-led coalition government in Tripura, called on Election Commission of India (ECI) to amend the voter enumeration forms for the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
The party argued that these forms should differentiate between residents of Sixth Schedule areas (under the autonomous district council) and those living in other regions, in light of the provisions of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
