Travis Head ad lands Uber in legal soup

Travis Head ad lands Uber in legal soup

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Australia batsman Travis Head, currently playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, has landed in the middle of a legal row thanks to a cheeky advertisement he starred in for Uber Moto.
In the ad, Head breaks into a stadium and spray-paints the phrase "Royally Challenged Bengaluru", a clear jab at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He then escapes the scene on an Uber bike-taxi. The ad, themed around "Baddies in Bengaluru," also made use of RCB's popular slogan "Ee sala cup naamde," which is trademarked.
RCB's parent company, Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd, wasn’t amused. They sued Uber India in the Delhi High Court, accusing them of copyright infringement and damaging the RCB brand. They argued the ad mocked the team and used its trademarks without permission — and that it was especially inappropriate since Head had once played for RCB.
