Toxic air grips Delhi: construction paused as CAQM invokes GRAP-III

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) Delhi morning broke under a suffocating haze on Tuesday, the air thick, skyline invisible, as pollution levels crossed into the ‘severe’ zone for the first time this season, prompting authorities to invoke GRAP-III.
Non-essential construction activities will be halted and primary classes shifted to hybrid mode amid deepening concern over the city’s toxic air.
At 4 p.m., the city’s 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 426, entering the dark red zone and marking the season’s highest level after Monday’s reading of 391, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

India, Jordan ink MoUs in culture, RE, digital infra, twinning of Petra and Ellora

Amman/New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) India and Jordan finalised MoUs in the fields of culture, renewable energy, digital public infrastructure and twinning arrangement between Petra and Ellora – two UNESCO World Heritage sites – in each other’s countries.
The MoUs were inked following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jordanian King Abdullah II in the Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman.
