TN ranked 3rd among states in Panchayat Devolution Index released by Centre

Chennai, Feb 15 (UI) Tamil Nadu is ranked third among the states in Panchayat Devolution Index report released by the Union Government.
The report titled "Status of Devolution to Panchayats in States - An Indicative Evidence Based
Ranking" was released by Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel

Goondas Battalion to celebrate 250 years of service, valour on Dec 13

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 10 (UNI) The historic 2nd Battalion of The Madras Regiment, proudly known as the “Goondas Battalion,” will celebrate its 250th Raising Day at the Pangode Military Station here on December 13.
The landmark occasion is expected to draw nearly 3,000 participants, including senior Army officers, serving personnel, veterans, and family members.

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 9 (UNI) Kerala witnessed a vibrant start to the first phase of its local body elections today, with prominent political, religious, and community leaders setting the tone by casting their votes early.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar exercised his franchise at Jawahar Nagar LP School at 11 am, while union Minister Suresh Gopi was among the earliest voters, casting his ballot at Shasthamkotta Government School at 7 am.
