TN: Police arrest 2 more persons, including minor, in retired SI murder case

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), Mar 24 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu police, probing the brutal murder of a retired sub inspector of police (SI), S.Zakhir Hussain Bijili (64) in Tirunelveli district, arrested two more persons including a minor, an officer said on Monday.
Zakhir, who was a member of the Special Protection Group (SPG) of former Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi, was hacked to death by a gang, when he was returning to his house after offering Namaz (prayer) in a mosque on March 18 at Kaatchi Mandapam in Tirunelveli town.
Zakhir, a trustee of Murtim Zarkhan Dargah, in a video post on Facebook last month alleged that he was facing death threat for resisting encroachment of 36 cents of land belonging to Waqf Board by a converted Muslim Krishnamurthy alias Mohammed Thoufiq (32).

SC upholds convictions in Tamil Nadu honour killing case
