TN: Avaniyapuram ‘Jallikattu’ turns bloody as bull tamer gored to death, 46 injured

Madurai (Tamil Nadu) Jan 14 (UNI) A young bull tamer was gored to death and atleast 46 others injured, nine of them critically, during the annual ‘Jallikattu’ (taming of bulls) event held at Avaniyapuram here on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Naveen Kumar of Vilankudi village in Madurai.
When Naveen Kumar attempted to tame a ferocious bull, its horn pierced through his chest. He was rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) in an ambulance, where he succumbed to the injuries.
