Timing for Retreat Ceremony at Attari-Wagah border revised; officials urge tourists to arrive early

Chandigarh, Feb 16 (UNI) The authorities at the Attari-Wagah border have announced a strategic revision in the timings for the daily Joint Retreat Ceremony. Attari Border Protocol Officer, Arun Mahal, informed the media that the schedule for the parade has been adjusted in accordance with the changing sunset timings and seasonal light conditions to ensure the ceremony concludes smoothly.
Under the newly implemented schedule, effective from February 16, 2026, the retreat parade will now commence at 5:00 pm and conclude at 5:30 pm. Previously, the ceremony was conducted between 4:30 pm. and 5:00 pm. Officer Mahal explained that these periodic adjustments are a standard procedure carried out annually to align the patriotic spectacle with the natural sunset, providing a better experience for the spectators.
To ensure a seamless experience, the Protocol Officer has issued a special advisory for both domestic and international tourists planning to witness the ceremonial display of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers. Visitors are encouraged to reach the border area by 3:00 pm. This early arrival is recommended to allow sufficient time for security clearances, entry formalities, and to secure seating, thereby avoiding any last-minute rush or inconvenience.
