Three Syrian security officers killed in terrorist attack

Damascus, Sept 6 (UNI) A group of terrorists attacked Syrian security officers near the Nasib border crossing with Jordan, killing three of them, the Syrian Interior Ministry said in a statement.
"Three internal security officers from the political security department in Daraa province were killed in an attack by a group of terrorists who opened fire on them on their way to work near the Saida bridge at the Nasib border checkpoint in Daraa province," the statement said.
On Wednesday, the secretary of the provincial branch of the Baath Party, Hussein al-Rifai, told Sputnik that a group of militants had organized an armed ambush and attacked a convoy in which he, Daraa Governor Louay Kharita, and senior local police officers were traveling.
An improvised explosive device was detonated on the convoy's route, after which the terrorists opened fire on the vehicles. In response, fighters from the security group opened fire to kill. As a result, six security personnel were slightly wounded. The governor was not hurt. UNI/SPUTNIK AKS
