Three killed, 27 injured as canter collides with truck

Bulandshahr (UP), May 16 (UNI) Three persons were killed and 27 people were injured in a collision between a canter and a truck in Jahangirabad town of Bulandshahr district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Tejveer Singh said that around 5 am, the canter was going from Mauda town of Punjab to Shahjahanpur-Hardoi with passengers in Jahangirabad police station area. "When it reached near Jahangirabad town area, the driver dozed off due to which his vehicle collided with the truck going ahead," he said.
He said that there were 36 passengers in the canter. "Out of these, three died and 27 having serious injuries were sent to Meerut Medical College for treatment. Further legal action is being taken at Jahangirabad police station," he said.
District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police inspected the spot.
